As a family we decided on these 2 charities, Ben's Centre and young lives vs cancer. Carol was always ready and willing to help the homeless wether it be by giving money, or being a listening ear so we chose Bens centre as they are a local non profit charity that support the city's vulnerable, including those who suffer alcoholism and the homeless. We chose Young people VS Cancer (previously known as CLIC Sargeant) because as a family we have benefited from this charity when our daughter/sister/granddaughter/niece Lea Ann Rose was terminally Ill and so we thought it appropriate to give something back in Carol's name. Some of the things Young lives Vs Cancer do as a charity is to provide support to children/teens which have cancer and their families. They provide financial support during those times, and free places to stay that are close to hospitals so families have somewhere to rest and still be close to their loved one and bereavement support amongst others things.
